Since I was following the RV in our car I was able to take this neat picture of the sun coming up beside the motor home. Yes I know----I shouldn’t have been driving and taking pictures at the same time!
We drove through lots of rolling open plains areas.
And then we crossed back over into Texas---this time in the panhandle.
We arrived at the campground for the rally Friday afternoon. The rally started Saturday afternoon but we wanted to get there early and do some sight seeing. Thank goodness we did. On Saturday there was 50 MPH wind gusts and parts of I-40 were closed due to dangerous driving conditions.
We really liked this park. It was so clean and the people were extremely friendly. This is a small pond area near the miniature golf.
A nice picnic area outside the laundry, game room and lounge buildings. There was also a nice indoor pool and recreation building.
The sites were mostly all long, large pull-thrus with 50 amp and a cement patio. All for $18 per night as a special for rally attendees.
At the front of the campground next to the office was Lizzie Mae’s Mercantile---one of the best country gift shops I have ever seen---even in Pa! This is where we will be for the next several days.
